This Residential 1 Zone site contained an existing dwelling which was being demolished to make way for a substantial family home in a raised part of Berwick. The site is affected by a Significant Landscape Overlay with a planning permit triggered for the construction of the dwelling and new fence near existing trees.
An arborist was engaged to record the status of surrounding trees and to provide recommendations on the proposed construction, with attention paid to the health and preservation of existing mature trees both on and off the site. Council issued a Notice of Decision, with no changes required to the dwelling. The planning permit process benefitted from a high quality arborist report and highly detailed plans.
