Amendment GC252 implements the new Housing Choice and Transport Zone (HCTZ) and new Built Form Overlay (BFO), introduced into the VPP earlier this year, over some of the states largest activity centres including; Broadmeadows, Camberwell, Chadstone, Epping, Frankston, Moorabbin, Niddrie, North Essendon, Preston & Ringwood. The changes focus on land, generally, within 800 metres of the activity centres’ core and:
- Rezones large areas of land to HCTZ
- Applies the new BFO
- Rezones large areas of General Residential Zoned land to the Residential Growth Zone
- Implements the Priority Development Zone
- And numerous other changes designed to increase housing development in and around activity centres.
